Teen Therapy
“To raise a child to be independent, strong, and confident is the greatest success we can be proud of as adults.” ~ Unknown

TEEN THERAPY
A teenager’s brain develops at an amazing rate. Brain maturity, plus other transitions during adolescence, affect how teens behave, make decisions, and interact with others. Teen therapy gives adolescents a chance to explore their feelings and work through challenges. Through therapy, teens grow in confidence and maturity and learn to use their voices respectfully.
Adolescents face many challenges
Teen therapy addresses:
- Peer relationships
- Bullying
- Self-injury
- Substance abuse
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Problems at home
- Trouble at school
Licensed therapists offer individual counseling
CCM Counseling & Wellness therapists are trained to keep teens interested and engaged while developing a healthy, therapeutic friendship. Most teens are willing to share their thoughts, feelings, and experiences with counselors. Generally, what a teen says in therapy remains confidential. However, sometimes a therapist deems a topic should not remain confidential. In this case, the therapist works with the teen so the teen can address the topic directly with a parent.
Teens discover strengths, develop skills
Talking with a trusted, trained adult is a priceless gift. Through individual counseling, teens can discover their strengths and develop skills to handle their struggles. At an early age, adolescents learn firsthand that reaching out for support is a sign of strength and resourcefulness. Teen therapy enhances an adolescent’s ability to be resilient.
